Cumbo  Display of artwork on temporary protective structures on construction sites.IntroductionThis bill would require the Department of Cultural Affairs (DCLA) to establish a program to solicit works of art from the public for display on temporary protective structures at construction sites. DCLA, in consultation with the Department of Buildings (DOB), would be required to biennially approve at least 40 such works of art, as well as 10 received through solicitation by other offices or agencies. This bill would require owners of properties where a temporary protective structure is installed to display artwork, selected either from among the 40 approved works, or by seeking site-specific artwork, on such temporary protective structure. This bill establishes an opt out for certain property owners who elect not to participate in this program.   Action details Not available
Int 1737-2019 *Carlina Rivera   After hours work authorization.IntroductionThis bill would amend various aspects of the process for issuing an after hours variance (AHV). It would provide that an AHV issued for public safety purposes expire 15 days after issuance, that an AHV only be issued for the hours of 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays and for the hours of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends, limit the number of days than an applicant for AHVs can request it to 3 weekdays per week, one Saturday or one Sunday per week and not include any holiday on which alternate side of the street parking rules are suspended, require the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) to issue a written explanation for its decisions on whether to issue an AHV and require an annual report where DEP would report to the Council data on the administration of the AHV process.   Action details Not available

Int 1760-2019 *Mark Levine  Tenant data privacy.IntroductionThis bill would require owners of multiple dwellings that utilize keyless entry systems, including but not limited to key fobs, biometric identifiers and electronic technologies, to provide tenants with a data retention and privacy policy. This bill would establish restrictions on the collection and use of data collected from such systems and from tenants’ usage of utilities and internet services, including, among other things, requiring consent from tenants and other users to use such information, restricting the sharing of such information with third parties, and requiring that any data collected be removed, anonymized, or destroyed within a given time. This bill would establish a private right of action for the unlawful sale of data collected through a keyless entry system covered by the bill. The Department of Housing Preservation and Development would be required to inform tenants and owners of multiple dwellings about the provisions of this law.   Action details Not available
