THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEW YORK

RESOLUTION NO. 883

 

Resolution approving the lease agreement of real property generally located at the southern portion of the Staten Island Homeport Pier, Staten Island (20055252 PNR; L.U. No. 409).

 

By Council Members Katz and Felder

 

 

                           WHEREAS, the Department of Small Business Services filed with the Council on February 22, 2005, pursuant to Sections 1301(2)(f) and (g) of the New York City Charter, a lease agreement between the City of New York Department of Small Business Services and a Homeport Layberth Services Provider of property generally located at southern portion of the Staten Island Homeport Pier (a diagram of which is attached hereto as Exhibit A-1 of the lease), upon terms and conditions set forth in the Lease Agreement, a copy of which is attached hereto (the "Lease"), Community District 1, Borough of Staten Island;

 

                           WHEREAS, the Lease Agreement is subject to review and action by the Council pursuant to Sections 1301(2)(f) and (g) of the New York City Charter;

 

                           WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Lease on March 2, 2005;

 

                     WHEREAS, the Council has considered the relevant environmental review (CEQR No. 05SBS005R) and the fact that a Negative Declaration was issued on March 1, 2005;

 

                           WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use and financial implications and other policy issues relating to the Lease;

 

RESOLVED:

 

                     The Council finds that the action described herein shall have no significant effect on the environment.

 

                           Pursuant to Sections 1301(2)(f) and (g) of the New York City Charter, the Council approves the Lease and upon the terms and conditions set forth in the Lease Agreement by the Department of Small Business Services, a copy of which is attached hereto.
