A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to 311 requests for police department surveillance cameras

 

Be it enacted by the Council as follows:

 

Section 1. Chapter 3 of title 23 of the administrative code of the city of New York is amended by adding a new section 23-312 to read as follows:

§ 23-312 Police department surveillance camera requests. a. The department of information technology and telecommunications shall implement and maintain through its 311 customer service center, mobile device platform, and any other platform that the center routinely uses to accept requests, the capability for the public to file a request under the category of “police department surveillance camera installation.” The department of information technology and telecommunications shall refer any such request to the police commissioner.

§ 2. This local law takes effect immediately.
